Raku Horsehair Pot III
Handmade, one of a kind horse hair raku pot made by Bob Ellis in Eliot, Maine
Formed by hand using a horse hair raku technique in which a series of very thin coats of terra siggilata are applied and then burnished with a chamois on the surface on the pot. The pot is fired in the kiln and then individual horse hairs are applied to its surface before being returned to the kiln. The horse hair burns into the surface, leaving a beautiful and unique carbon trailing behind.

Decorative, not waterproof. A small glass or recyclable lining (not included) should be used if live flowers or plants are placed within.
